My confession

I opened this blog, because I have a secret confession - reading other people's blogs...Shall I tell the wife, or wot?

What do I do? I collect gadgets and break them! I use a mobile (cell) phone. I read Dilbert cartoons. I play music and watch TV, I travel extensively in Europe and enjoy Italian wine (didn't expect that one, hey!). I cook better than my wife (shall I tell her?). I go to church regularly and help a few people, now and then.

But the reason I blogged was because I got caught up in following threads of hate across t'internet, and all written by my (male and female) fellow Christians (though mostly male).

Shock, horror. Some Christians don't agree with each other. And not just on big stuff, like how big is God and how many angels can you fit on a pinhead, but on medium stuff, like "that preacher wot is doing very well, has a great book out and stuff, but, like, must be the devil cause I can pick holes in his preaching", and on little stuff, like "you said 'X', but wouldn't let me say 'Y' and its not fair."

Now, Christians disagreeing is not new stuff. I, for one, am often disagreeable. It is just a great pain to see it on the screen. I found a whole load of stuff when I was trying to see more about Rick Warren, the US pastor who wrote the book "The Purpose Driven Life". The vitriol displayed in some quarters is unfathomable. Following more links (I know, I really shouldn't!) I discovered an argument starting with related topics but degenerating into "You can't delete my comment", "Oh yes I can", "Oh no you

I have decided not to name any names, or join in the arguments. I may, though, fire a useless arrow in the odd direction, without any hope of hitting a target or any claim to superior wisdom. I will simply put my thoughts to print instead of telling my wife!

You, dear reader, probably don't exist, as I have no high hopes for distribution of my thoughts. However, even if you are fictitious, please feel free to reply. For my part, I will feel free to answer, ignore or remove any comments at a whim.

I may even post a picture of Italy.
and I don't really have
